What happens to a dynamic distribution list when a user leaves the organisation?

We have a bunch of dynamic distribution list created by different people in our organisation. One of these is going on maternity leave soon and hence her SugarSell license will be deactivated. However, we would like to continue using the lists the person created in Market.

Since there is no functionality to edit the lists someone else created how can we make sure that we can use these lists in the future? What are your suggestions if we would need to create new ones to not run into these issues in the future?

  • Hi  ,

You're right—once a user’s license is deactivated, any lists they created would no longer be modifiable due to current system limitations. To work around this and avoid similar issues in the future, one option to consider is creating a generic user account specifically for list management in both Sell and Market.

Using a generic user account could ensure that crucial lists remain accessible and editable, regardless of individual user changes. If security policies at your company allow, this could be a practical approach to maintaining continuity without disruptions.

This method also helps centralize list management, reducing the impact of personnel changes on your operations.

  • Hi  ,

Could you please add a enhancement request for adding the functionality to reassign dynamic distribution lists? This would make it a lot easier if someone leaves the company or is away for a longer period.

    Kind regards,
