Nurture 2.0 Conditional Elements

I am working on creating a nurture and had a few questions about the link click conditional element.

I have built a series of links for users to select an industry they are interested in. If they click on one of these industries, I would like to update an "industry" field in our CRM. There are five different industry types they can link on. The email with these selections will be sent to the user and then I would like to immediately alert a sales person. If I were to place the link click conditional element after the first email, would it wait the full time set in the "days to wait" field before moving on to the alert user step? 

Assuming the answer to this is yes and the conditional element pauses the user until that time is up, I am curious what happens if I place this step later in the nurture instead of immediately after the email. There are some pauses built within the nurture, if the link click conditional element is set after these pauses is that already factored into the the "days to wait" step?

    I apologize for the delayed response.  Thank you for providing so much detail, and this is a great question.  The "days to wait" set within the condition behaves more like a grace period for the recipient, rather than a nurture pause.  What I mean by this is it gives the recipient time to open your email and click the link before moving them forward in the nurture.  But once they click the link, they are immediately moved to the next step, regardless of whether they clicked the link an hour later or 2.5 days later.  

    So, if you have an alert element immediately following the "yes" path for each link click, the alert will go out immediately after they click the link.

    Please let me know if I need to clarify further or if you have further questions.
