IFElse Statements and Calculation within

With the ifElse formula, you are attempting to perform a calculation in the first parameter rather than a true/false evaluation. You also want to nest the ifElse statements to perform the additional evaluation(s) if the preceding evaluations fail. Your formula should look something like the following:

ifElse(
    equal(
        $eadjustmenttype_c,
        "Plus"
    ),
    add(
        $totalschedulerrate_c,
        $totaladjustmentrate_c
    ),
    ifElse(
        equal(
            $eadjustmenttype_c,
            "Minus"
        ),
        subtract(
            $totalschedulerrate_c,
            $totaladjustmentrate_c
        ),
        ""
    )
)
